Not just PML holders at risk.
As we’ve already said, to avoid consultation weariness you must establish if a consultation impacts you or your organisation’s interests – and if you are a holder of a British Gambling Commission Personal Management Licence, then you will have an interest in this, as it could impact your career. Indeed, the GC are planning to increase the number of people who are required to hold PMLs, therefore if you are in any position of responsibility within a gambling related business, or even in a parent company, you may well soon find yourself under more scrutiny.
In an open letter to The Times back in May 2022, Andrew Rhodes wrote about increasing the focus on and scope of those who must hold PMLs. This is covered within the current consultation on proposed changes to various GC mandates which closes on 18 October 2023. It is almost inevitable that the result will be both increased focus on the actions of individual PML holders and an increase in the number of people who are required to hold PMLs.
